Here are the last few weeks at the dykstra house. The outside of the house is looking finished; siding is all on, garage doors in, and the big dirt pile is gone! Inside is slow progress but things are happening. Everything got insluated and Lowell took out the old entry way and wall to the 'rock room' which of course is now garage and got the new back wall built and ceiling supported and he is working on putting up more sheet rock. It has been so hot it makes that even more of miserable job than it already is.
insulation on the wall upstairs

spray foam insluation in garage ceiling
looking at where the old entry door used to be (now a closet) and to the left is where the new door from the garage is
where the wall to the rock room was and is now going to be open to dining room, there will be a wall in back to block off the back room where geo thermal is

my house got even smaller; temporary wall lowell put in to keep all the mess and dust out while were working ( you will see the stairs and new door from the garage looking this way soon!!)

It's been hot and humid here so we've been enjoying the water. Here is Grant jabbering up a storm, wish we knew what he was saying. Grant got bronchitis when it was the hottest and still thought he should go out and play, even though he had trouble breathing without being in the hot humid air. So we had a few sleepless nights and 10 days of meds but we're good now. Enjoyed the pool in town last few days. We've also been enjoying our garden green beans, summer squash, and sugar snap peas. We're disappointed our apple trees hardly have any apples this year, but looking forward to the corn and trying out Lowell's corn sheller! All for now, stay tuned for corn shelling and a weekend back to NE.
